Saitama University would like to appreciate our members for taking appropriate measures to prevent infection from COVID-19. We would also like to thank you all for your cooperation in our recent survey on your intention to receive the vaccine. As a result, we received requests from 5,700 members of SU in total. Based on these requests, on Thursday, June 24 2021, SU submitted an application to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for the occupational vaccination. The main contents of the application are as follows.

【Vaccination Scale】5700 persons : about 500/day for 12 days × 2 shots

【Vaccination Venue】 University Hall (Daigaku Kaikan) 3^rd Floor

【Vaccination Period】First Shot : August 1 (Sun) to August 12 (Thu), including weekends

                                          Second Shot : August 29 (Sun) to September 9 (Thu), including weekends

【Type of Vaccine】 Takeda/Moderna

The following comments were made by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare upon our application

・Applications will be reviewed in turn by the government.

・Desired date for the start of vaccination may not meet the expectations since a certain amount of time to examine the applications may take place.

・As soon as the application is approved, necessary procedures will be announced to the university.

・Occupational vaccination will not be fixed until the university receives a notice of approval from the government.

SU will officially notify about the occupational vaccination as soon as we receive a notice of approval from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Please note that SU will start accepting appointments for the vaccination date and time from those who wish to be vaccinated only after the approval of the occupational vaccination from the government is received.
