Positive Case of COVID-19 (January 2021) updated: Jan 31

In January 2021, Saitama University confirmed twentieth cases of COVID-19. Please confirm the below, but kindly understand that we will not disclose any personal information.

 

[34th case of COVID 19 (January 19)]50s, faculty/staff

1. Symptoms    
   January 26:  Identified as a “close contact” by the health center
   January 29:  Had a PCR test 
   January 30:  Had a fever, felt exhausted, tested positive
   January 31:  Returned to normal temperature
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. Due to the Saitama City Public Health Center, no one is identified to have come into close contact.

 

[33th case of COVID 19 (January 19)]20s, student

1. Symptoms    
   December 29:  Had a sore throat and a headache, felt a chill, felt exhausted
   January 2:  Recovered 
   January 3:  Had loss of taste and smell symptom 
   January 6:  Had a PCR test
   January 8 : Tested positive 
   ~January 15: Stayed at home following the instruction of the health center
   Still having loss of taste and smell symptom

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

 

[32nd case of COVID 19 (January 18)] student

1. Symptoms    
   December 27:  Had a fever over 39 degrees, a headache, loss of smell, a cough, joints pain, a sore throat
   December 28:  Had a PCR test, tested positive 
   December 29:  Tested positive Returned to normal temperature with antipyretics 
   ~January 6:    Stayed at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

1. Symptoms    
   January 15:  Had a fever, felt exhausted
                      Had a PCR test, Tested positive 
   January 16:  Returned to normal temperature with antipyretics 
   Having loss of smell symptom
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

[30th case of COVID 19 (January 18)] student

1. Symptoms    
   January 14:  Had a fever over 38 degrees, a headache, a runny nose, joints pain, a sore throat, felt exhausted
                      Had a PCR test, Tested positive 
   January 15:  Returned to normal temperature with antipyretics
   Still having a sore throat 
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

1. Symptoms    
   December 31: Had a fever and a headache, felt exhausted, had PCR test
   January 1:    Tested positive 
   ~January 10:  Stayed at home following the instruction of the health center 

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

 

[28th case of COVID 19 (January 18)]20s, student

1. Symptoms    
   January 9:    Had a scratchy throat
   January 10:  Identified as a “close contact” by the health center 
   January 12:  Had a PCR test 
   January 14:  Tested positive 
   Staying at home until Jan 19 following the instruction of the health center

2. Due to the Saitama City Public Health Center, no one is identified to have come into close contact.

 

[27th case of COVID 19 (January 14)]20s, student

1. Symptoms    
   December 26:  Had a cough and sore throat 
   December 28:  Identified as a “close contact” by the health center 
   January 4:       Had a PCR test, tested positive 
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

 

[26th case of COVID 19 (January 14)]20s, student

1. Symptoms    
   December 27:  Had a cough
   December 29:  Had a headache and a fever, identified as a “close contact” by the health center 
   December 31:  Had a PCR test, tested positive 
   January 1:  Stayed at at the accommodation medical facility 
   January 6 : Left the accommodation medical facility
   Carrying out an observation of health conditions at home

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

 

[25th case of COVID 19 (January 14)]20s, student

1. Symptoms    
   December 27:  Identified as a “close contact” and directed to refrain from going outside until January 9 
   by the health center 
   January 6:  Had a PCR test 
   January 8 : Tested positive
   Have no symptoms, Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

 

[24th case of COVID 19 (January 14)]10s, student

1. Symptoms    
   January 8 :  Identified as a “close contact” by the health center 
   January 12: Had a PCR test 
   January 13 : Tested positive
   Have no symptoms, Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

1. Symptoms    
   January 8 : Had a fever, felt exhausted, visited a clinic, had PCR test 
         stayed at home 
   January 12 : Tested positive
   Having loss of taste and smell symptoms, and sore throat  
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

 

[22nd case of COVID 19 (January 8)]20s, student

1. Symptoms    
   January 6 : Had a fever, felt exhausted  
   January 7 : Visited a clinic, had PCR test
   January 8 : Tested positive
   Have no symptoms, Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

1. Symptoms    
   December 30 : Had a fever, loss of taste and smell symptom  
   December 31 : Visited a clinic, had PCR test
   January 1 :      Tested positive
   Staying in the hospital

   December 31 : Had a slight fever and sore throat  
   January 4 :      Had a PCR test
   January 6 :      Tested positive
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

[18th case of COVID 19 (January 4, 2021)]10s, student

1. Symptoms    
   ~ December 30 : Stayed at home for a while
   December 30 : Had a fever, a runny nose, a stuffy nose, loss of taste and dyspnea symptom   
   December 31 : Had a PCR test, tested positive
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. Due to the Saitama City Public Health Center, no one is identified to have come into close contact.

   December 31 : Had a headache, had a PCR test   
   January 1 :      Tested positive
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

   December 30 : Visited a clinic, had a PCR test, tested positive

1. Symptoms    
   December 24 : Had a  fever  
   December 26 : Visited a clinic, had a PCR test  
   December 28 : Tested positive
   Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

 

We have confirmed thirty-four positive cases of COVID-19 including this case. We continue to devote our efforts to prevent the spread of the virus and will continue to prioritize the health and well-being of our students and the community.

6. Refrain from making loud noises at restaurants.
