Between January 6 and 14, Saitama University confirmed nine cases of COVID-19. Please confirm the below, but kindly understand that we will not disclose any personal information.
[19th case of COVID 19 (January 6)]10s, student
1. Symptoms
December 30 : Had a fever
January 1 : Had a PCR test, tested positive
Staying at home following the instruction of the health center
2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.
[20th case of COVID 19 (January 6)]20s, student
1. Symptoms
December 31 : Had a slight fever and sore throat
January 4 : Had a PCR test
January 6 : Tested positive

[21th case of COVID 19 (January 7)]20s, student
1. Symptoms
December 30 : Had a fever, loss of taste and smell symptom
December 31 : Visited a clinic, had PCR test
January 1 : Tested positive
Staying in the hospital

1. Symptoms
January 6 : Had a fever, felt exhausted
January 7 : Visited a clinic, had PCR test
January 8 : Tested positive
Have no symptoms, Staying at home following the instruction of the health center

[23rd case of COVID 19 (January 12)]20s, student
1. Symptoms
January 8 : Had a fever, felt exhausted, visited a clinic, had PCR test
stayed at home
January 12 : Tested positive
Having loss of taste and smell symptoms, and sore throat
Staying at home following the instruction of the health center
2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.

1. Symptoms
January 8 : Identified as a “close contact” by the health center
January 12: Had a PCR test
January 13 : Tested positive
Have no symptoms, Staying at home following the instruction of the health center
2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.
[25th case of COVID 19 (January 14)]20s, student
1. Symptoms
December 27: Identified as a “close contact” and directed to refrain from going outside until January 9
by the health center
January 6: Had a PCR test
January 8 : Tested positive
Have no symptoms, Staying at home following the instruction of the health center
2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.
[26th case of COVID 19 (January 14)]20s, student
1. Symptoms
December 27: Had a cough
December 29: Had a headache and a fever, identified as a “close contact” by the health center
December 31: Had a PCR test, tested positive
January 1: Stayed at at the accommodation medical facility
January 6 : Left the accommodation medical facility
Carrying out an observation of health conditions at home
2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.
[27th case of COVID 19 (January 14)]20s, student
1. Symptoms
December 26: Had a cough and sore throat
December 28: Identified as a “close contact” by the health center
January 4: Had a PCR test, tested positive
Staying at home following the instruction of the health center
2. In line with Saitama City Public Health Center, we are doing contact tracing.
We have confirmed twenty-seven positive cases of COVID-19 including this case. We continue to devote our efforts to prevent the spread of the virus and will continue to prioritize the health and well-being of our students and the community.

1. Avoid going out into public places if you have a fever or symptoms of COVID-19.
2. Avoid visiting nightlife district and places that do not promote proper prevention measures.
3. Download and use COVID-19 warning applications released by the Japanese government and Saitama Prefecture.
4. Avoid the 3Cs (Closed spaces, Crowded place and Close-contact settings)
5. Avoid large social gatherings.
6. Refrain from making loud noises at restaurants.
