On March 23, 2023, Dr. Thilla Sivakumaran, Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and Global Outreach from Arkansas State University – Jonesboro (ASUJ), USA, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Takafumi Sakai, President of Saitama University (SU).

ASUJ and SU concluded the Inter-University Exchange Agreement in 2009 and ASUJ and the Faculty of Liberal Arts of SU concluded the Double Bachelor’s Degree Program (DDP) Agreement in 2018. This spring, the student from SU completed this DDP program for the first time, and she was presented with degree certificates from both universities at the degree conferment and the DDP completion ceremony on March 24.

During the courtesy call, in addition to Vice Chancellor Thilla and President Sakai, Dr. Hideo Ichihashi, Vice President for International Affairs and Global Education, SU, Dr. Susumu Nonaka, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, SU, and Dr. Ichiro Miyata, Professor of Faculty of Liberal Arts, SU actively exchanged information on the current status of student exchange between the two universities.
