In this opportunity I want to say that this Summer Program was an incredible experience. For me it was much more than only a Japanese course, I learned more about the culture and daily life in Japan, I made many friends from different parts of the world and of course I improved my language skills.

My name is Laura Melissa Rosero, I am studying Psychology in my home country Colombia at Konrad Lorenz University in Bogota. Thanks to my university and the agreement that they have with the Saitama University, I was able to find out about the announcement to participate in the summer course. When I saw it, I could only think that I should take this opportunity, for many years I have had a great interest in Japan and its language. So I applied and thank God I was selected.

Thanks to the classes I was able to improve many aspects of grammar and especially lose my fear of speaking Japanese. Our teacher taught us with great love and dedication, which I thank from my heart. At first I thought that because the program was virtual I would not have the opportunity to learn about Japanese culture, but it was not like that, all the extracurricular activities focused on showing us more about Japan and its culture. I remember the kindness of the Japanese family in which I spoke on the online home stay, on that occasion, time flew by and I really appreciate that beautiful experience, also the students from the university of Saitama told us about Japan and their life as students there, it was incredible.

I can only say that I was so happy that the 4 weeks passed before I knew it and I could only wish that the course was a little longer, I am sure that everything I learned will be very valuable for my learning process of Japanese language and my dream to visit Japan.
