Access to the university by train from the international airport

*From either airport, it takes 2 to 2.5 hours to reach the university campus. Below is the recommended route for coming to Saitama University by train, with fewer transfers.

From Haneda Airport

1) Go to B1 floor (or 3F for Terminal 3) for “Tokyo Mono rail” line (Do not go to “Keikyu” line!)

  Tokyo Monorail : Quick transfers (tokyo monorail.co.jp)

2) Purchase ticket for “Tokyo Monorail” line to “Hamamatsucho” station (should be 520 yen) together with a  transfer ticket to “JR”line to “Kita Urawa” station (should be 490 yen) : You can purchase them together in one ticket

3) Get on “Tokyo Monorail” line (Do not go to “Keikyu” line!)

4) Get off at “Hamamatsucho” station (last stop)

5) Transfer to JR line (use the same ticket)

6) Go to platform 1 and get on “Keihin Tohoku” line, bound for “Omiya” (Do not get on which only goes up to “Minami Urawa” station!) ; takes approximately 50 min.

7) Get off at “Kita Urawa” station

8) Go out of the West gate, and take a taxi or local bus to SU.  　

 

From Narita Airport

1)  Go to the information desk on the 1st floor of your arrival terminal, or go directly to B1 floor.

     Purchase ticket for “Keisei Skyliner” line to “Nippori” station.  (should be 2,580yen)

2) Go to B1 floor and get on Keisei Skyliner (Do not go to JR line!)

3) Get off at “Nippori” station.

4) Transfer to JR line : you need to purchase another ticket for the JR line

5) Purchase ticket for JR Line to “Kita Urawa” station (should be 410yen)

6) Go to platform 12 and get on “Keihin Tohoku” line, bound for “Omiya” (Do not get on which only goes up to “Minami Urawa” station!)

7) Get off at “Kita Urawa” station

8) Go out of the West gate, and take a taxi or local bus to SU.

 

 

From Kita-Urawa station to Saitama University

◆By Taxi

You will find a taxi stand right outside the West gate of Kita Urawa station.   

Fare : approx. 1,200 – 1,500 JPY

Riding time : approx. 20 minutes

 *All Japanese taxis have fare meters and the left rear passenger door will open and close automatically as you enter and exit. No tip is necessary

 *Cash is the preferred means of payment. If you only have credit card, please ask the driver in advance as the taxi might not have credit card facilities.

 

If you are heading to the university’s international dormitory(I-house), please give the driver the following address.

◆By Local bus (Bus Company : Kokusai Kogyo Bus or Sebu Bus)

Board at platform 5 and get off at ‘Saitama University’ (last stop).

Fare : 200 – 240 JPY  *Fares vary by bus company

Riding time : approx. 20 minutes

 *Payment can be made in cash or prepaid IC card (SUICA or PASMO,etc) . 1,000-yen bills can be exchanged at the change machine inside the bus (other bills are not accepted).
