Every year, Saitama University holds a short-term language and culture training program named the Summer Program.
This program started in 2015 and welcomed international students every year, but for the past few years it has been held online because of the COVID-19.
In 2023, we can conduct Summer Program face-to-face for the first time in a few years, and we are accepting 5 students from 4 countries from our partner universities. (*1)
(*1 United Kingdom, Netherlands, Thailand, and Germany)
Summer Program intensive courses in Japanese language, Japanese culture, economics, international development, etc. will be offered for four weeks from June 12. Summer Program students will attend classes together with Saitama University students and STEPS students (exchange students).
An orientation and science workshop were held on Saturday, June 10. A total of nine undergraduate and graduate students from Saitama University also participated, making it a lively first day of the program.
On the following day, Sunday the 11th, they enjoyed a barbecue at Shimizu Park. They were relaxed and having fun with other students of their age.
Participating students commented, “It was not only fun, but also good to be exposed to English for a long time. I was able to spend two intense days.”
