Party of Sri Lanka SATREPS Project visited Saitama University

Graduate School of Science and Engineering and Center for Research and Training on International Development (CERTID) at Saitama University have been working on a JST – JICA project, SATREPS: Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development, in collaboration with Center for Environmental Science in Saitama (CESS) since 2010: ‘Development of Pollution Control and Environmental Restoration Technologies of Waste Landfill Sites Taking into Account Geographical Characteristics in Sri Lanka’ led by Professor Norio Tanaka of SU.

 7 members from University of Peradeniya and Sri Lanka government as counterpart organizations visited Saitama University for training and made a courtesy call on Dr. Seiichiro Nakabayashi: Vice President of Saitama University, in charge of International Affairs, to report on the progress, February 15, 2016.  The following discussion reached a consensus on the importance of the project and the necessity for further cooperation.
