Policy of Saitama University after October 25, 2021 in accordance with the termination of “Gradual relaxation measures“

Saitama University had been implementing gradual mitigation measures based on the “Gradual Mitigation Measures after October 1, 2021 in Saitama Prefecture” issued by the Governor of Saitama Prefecture on September 28, 2021 and had been taking necessary measures with the Risk level 2.  However, it has been decided to terminate the phased mitigation measures in Saitama Prefecture on October 24, 2021.

Therefore, Saitama University take the following measures after October 25, 2021.

 

Policy on New Coronavirus Infections
 
Saitama University maintain Risk level 2 policy for COVID-19 infections.
   We ask our students, faculty, and staff to confirm the actions to be taken at Risk Level 2 in “COVID-19 manual” and continue to thoroughly implement the basic infection prevention measures described below.
   ・Avoid the three Cs; Closed spaces, Crowded places, Close-contact settings
   ・Keep distance
   ・Wash your hands, Disinfect your hands

 

〇Student

[Entry to Okubo campus]  
   Please continue to implement the taking measures to prevent infection.
  
 [Classes] 
   Classes have been conducted in HyFlex mode (Hybrid Flexible: combine face-to-face and online classes) in principle.
   For details, please refer to “Classes in Term 3 of FY 2021.″
   The class schedule for the 4th term will be announced later.

[Research] 
  In addition to basic infection prevention measures, please take the following measures.
   ・Keep a doors of labs and laboratories open as much as possible.
   ・Record the name(s) of person(s) who was in the same space during the research or experiment.

[Extracurricular activities] 
   For activities after October 25 (Mon.), 2021, please refer to “Restrictions on Extracurricular Activities on and after October 25, 2021 (Japanese Only)

[Traveling abroad] 
  Please follow the infection risk information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Japan and the country/region concerned.

 

〇Faculty members

[Classes] 
  Classes have been conducted in HyFlex mode (Hybrid Flexible: combine face-to-face and online classes) in principle.

[Research] 
   In addition to basic infection prevention measures, please take the following measures.

[Domestic business trip] 
   Please continue to take basic infection prevention measures.

[Overseas business trip] 
   Please follow the infection risk information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Japan and the country/region concerned.

[Conference and Ceremony]  
  Please ensure that basic infection prevention measures are taken.
  The method of holding the meeting (face-to-face, remote, etc.) should be determined by the chairperson in the case of a meeting, and by the organizer in the case of a ceremony.

 

〇Administrative staffs and technical staffs

[Staggered commuting] 
  The staggered working hours has been terminated with the completion of the phased mitigation measures.

 [Teleworking] 
  The number of days of telecommuting will be within the range of the frequency based on the employment regulations.

 

〇Attached school and kindergarten 

ーDepending on the situation, staggered school hours and shortened classes will be implemented in some cases. The relevant parties will be notified by each school.

ー For club activities, activities are restricted in accordance with the “Hygiene Management Manual for COVID-19 Infection in Schools” (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) and “Thorough countermeasures against COVID-19 in elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, and special support schools in situations where choral music is performed” (Notice) (jointly issued by the Director-General of the Elementary and Secondary Education Bureau and the Deputy Director-General of the Agency for Cultural Affairs on December 10, 2020).

ーStaggered work hours has been terminated for teachers and staff, and the number of days of telecommuting will be within the range of the frequency based on the employment regulations.

 

〇Outsider  
   Please continue to wear masks and practice hand hygiene.

 

〇Other requests
   We have received a request for cooperation from the Governor of Saitama Prefecture dated October 20, 2021, as follows: “Request to residents and businesses of Saitama Prefecture after October 25, 2021”.

ー “Three Cs” should be avoided thoroughly, and basic infection prevention measures such as “keeping a distance between people”, “wearing masks”, and “hand hygiene such as hand washing” should be taken thoroughly.  

ー When traveling between prefectures, such as for homecoming, travel, or business trips, please follow basic infection prevention measures and refrain from eating with large groups of people.

ーWhen eating or drinking, please use restaurants certified as “Sainokuni “New Lifestyle” Safe Declaration Restaurants + (Plus)” that are participating in efforts to protect the lives of customers.
