Courtesy Call and Special Lecture by Ambassador of India to Japan

On December 1, 2023, H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan and Ms. Kanika Agarwal, Director of Vivekananda Cultural Center, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Takafumi Sakai, President of Saitama University (SU).

 During the courtesy call, Prof. Dr. Hideo Ichihashi, Vice President for International Affairs and Global Education, SU, Dr. Motoi Kato, Advisor and fellow, Prof. Tetsuo Konaka, Research Promotion Office, SU, and Associate Prof. Dr. Yasuhiro Hasegawa, Director of International Planning Office, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, SU, joined the meeting and had a meaningful discussion in a friendly atmosphere about the future possibilities of exchange in the two countries.

 After the courtesy call, Ambassador George gave a special lecture titled “Japan-India Partnership in the Indo-Pacific” to SU students and faculty members. The lecture was attended by nearly 70 participants, who were able to listen to a valuable lecture not only on Japan-India relations, but also from a global perspective. The lecture was a great success, with many questions raised by the participants.
