With the letter from Prime Minister Hung

On Friday, June 5, H.E. Pham Quang Hieu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Japan, visited Saitama University, bearing a letter from H.E. Mr. Le Minh Hung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

This letter was sent in response to a congratulatory message previously conveyed by President Takaomi Shigehara upon Prime Minister Hung’s appointment, as he is an alumnus of the former Graduate School of Policy Science of Saitama University (abolished in September 2001).

In his letter, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for his time as a student at the University and stated his hope that collaboration between Saitama University and research and educational institutions in Viet Nam will further contribute to the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Japan and Viet Nam.

During the meeting, Ambassador Hieu, who himself has experience studying in Japan, remarked that he would like to encourage more outstanding Vietnamese students to pursue their studies at Saitama University.

At a separate gathering with Vietnamese international students, Ambassador Hieu also offered words of encouragement, expressing his hope that they would learn as much as possible in Japan and contribute to the future development of Viet Nam.
