On December 8, 2023, Prof. Olha Nikolenko from Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University　(PNPU) and, Prof. Lidiia Matsevko-Bekerska and Ms. Kateryna Nikolenko, graduate student, from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (LNU) paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Sakai Takafumi, President of Saitama University.

PNPU and SU concluded an inter-university exchange agreement in 2021 and supported the acceptance of Ukrainian evacuation students in 2022 and 2023. In addition, SU has been offering online joint classes with PNPU and LNU since 2020, which led to this courtesy visit. Prof. Nikolenko thanked the President Sakai for the support in accepting Ukrainian evacuation students.

Prof. Susumu Nonaka, Dean of Faculty of Liberal Arts, SU, in cooperation with PNPU, conducted online classes of “Momotaro” for Ukrainian children and online meetings between SU students and PNPU students during his classes. Prof. Nikolenko again expressed her gratitude for the emotional support of Ukrainian children.

Prof. Matsevko-Bekerska expressed her gratitude for the online joint classes and expressed her hope for further exchange with SU.

 Afterwards, a meaningful exchange of opinions took place to promote further active exchanges among the three universities in the future.
